Class Dismissed
(Me Dismissed)
You passed me through the crowded halls, and yet you never saved me;
I sat inside your classrooms, and it felt like you betrayed me.
An oath I’m sure you took one day, to help and to protect;
But yet you watched my spirit die, and showed me no respect.
The kids were vicious every day, yet you ignored their words;
I trusted you, believed in you, but you were too bothered.
You passed me by while witnessing, my childhood chip away;
I deserved more from my teachers, yet they failed to make the grade.
I pray that times have changed since then, I pray that teachers listen;
I’d never want my child to burn, in the hell that I once lived in.

Yes..that was me ‘once upon a time’. Teachers, bus drivers, principals, acquaintances, strangers, EVERYBODY…don’t turn a blind eye. Keep your eyes wide open for bullying. Bullying ruins lives. You alone may be able to help save one!
This was written today…two decades and more after the ‘abuse’ (yes abuse) occurred. I think that speaks volumes. If you’re a child yourself, don’t think about what is ‘cool’ and what you may THINK is ‘uncool’. But rather what is ‘right’ and what is ‘wrong.’ Don’t do the wrong thing. Right is ALWAYS COOL!
Teachers…you really disappointed me (back then). I forgive you. I know there are many good among you in this world. I just want you to realize that you have more power than you will ever know. Please, always use it for good.
”If I can help spread awareness, it helps make all of the pain worthwhile. That also speaks volumes.” – Mama P.
