The Tooth Fairy Comes To Visit! How Much Does She Leave? (+ Pics)
Admittedly, this is not an exciting topic, but I just wanted to ask you all, how much does the tooth fairy in your home, give your kids, when they lose a tooth?
There seems to be so much variation, I wonder if kids ever talk amongst themselves, and say ‘Hey I got gypt’, when little Timmy gets $5 a tooth, vs. his only $1. Maybe there should be some universal rule on this one, on what to give.
Do you give more for molars VS. smaller teeth, like the front chompers? I had this discussion amongst a group of moms last week, and some of them did give more for the bigger teeth. I never have. Am I out of the loop here?
It was funny, one mom actually forgot to leave the money under the pillow one time. She fell asleep, and didn’t get a chance to put it there, and the child woke up quite disappointed, saying, ‘Mommy, mommy, the tooth fairy, didn’t come to visit me’.
She had to think fast, and adamantly replied, ’That is because the tooth fairy is off on Tuesday nights. She will be here tonight, you will see’. I was cracking up…The tooth fairy’s day off. HA! That was a pretty good one.
Then when we talked about dollar amounts, It varied so much. Some give $1 per tooth, some like me give $2, and there were moms that left $5, and even 1 that leaves $20 per tooth. 20 DOLLARS?? Heck, as a kid, I would have been ripping the teeth right out of my head, for that amount of money!
That seems so excessive to me. We all looked at her like, ’Woah’. She has 3 kids to, so that must really add up fast. In my day, we got $1.00, and that was exciting enough to us. I figured due to inflation
$2, which is double, is more than acceptable. Any thoughts?
Oh and just for fun, I’m sharing a few photos of the girls, that I took the day before yesterday at the park, before picking up Mikayla, and heading home for the bus to greet my son. I sware I find it amazingly peaceful, to be just out with the two of them alone. That is until they are walking.
I’m so afraid of someone getting hurt, because God didn’t give me any extra hands, to catch 2 babies when they wobble over, in two different directions. Lord, give me strength.
Oh well, I’ll enjoy this immobility while it lasts, though both girls can get to point A and point B, by half crawling now. Allie is still working on a full blown, unassisted sit up, but last night it happened for over a minute. (YAY Allie!) That’s a really great start. Annie just flies all over the place. It’s insane! They are just growing up, TOO, TOO, fast!
Allie sitting up a few seconds
Double trouble? NAH, double smiles!
Allie loving the sound, of crackling leaves in her fingers
No, No…That’s not where they should go Annie!
Leaf collecting, sure is tiring! Notice Allie even trying to take off her sneakers, in her sleep!
With Allie Asleep, all eyes are on me. I’m such a ham!
God knows we can’t EVER nap at the same time!
I lost a shoe somewhere mom!
Look at what I can do! Standing like a pro!
Watch out world…Here I come!
When Alessandra awoke, I packed the girls up, and headed to the school to pick up Mikayla. Whelp, when I got home, there was a shoe missing off her foot. I knew I had them back on, as she kept kicking them off, when we got to the car, so where was it? Nope, not in the car, not in the house, not in the car seat. Where was that little pink shoe?
I said to the hub, ‘Watch the kids, it was a brand new shoe, and I was going to find it!’ I went back to the park, and saw a large Escalade in the spot that I was parked in, a 1/2 hour earlier. I thought, if it had been there, it surely was squashed now, or perhaps even blew away, as it was pretty breezy outside.
I parked, got out of the car, looked around the parking spot…nothing. Looked under the Escalade and BINGO!. I had to crawl on my belly underneath the large SUV, to retrieve the small shoe. Thankfully, it had not been run over. I got in my car, and headed back home, feeling quite victorious.
So that is what life has come to? Getting a thrill, over finding a lost baby shoe?….Oh God,
!
Just another day in the life of a mommy with multiples.
See ya later gators

Hello, wow you look like you have your hands full with those beautiful twins of yours. They are adorable. Zippy #1 of our Chix has 8 year old twins….the first year is the hardest:) My kids are older now, but when they were young I started out giving a dollar and then one day I forgot to be the tooth fairy. I had to think quick, grab what was on the dresser and show my child how the money had slid behind the bed;) From then on the tooth fairy had to give $5. I found you on the Bloggy Mom site and GFC’d you. Hope to see you come by and visit the ZippyChix when you have some free time:)
i just read this post about the tooth fairy i like the picture. but why compete with what others are doing money is so Trivial. kids will never be able to get enough and most will burn though it. on stupid things. I have the tooth fairy on Email and text. when my kids lose a tooth i send her out a message then wait and write receive a reply for the ones that can read i let them read it. it says when she will be back in town so she will try to come and get the tooth. it seems to work and when the tooth fairy does come she never leaves money. she has left coloring books and crayons Movies and Books clothes. toys, most of what she leaves can be purchased at dollar tree or Walmart. i realize it is allot when you stand back and think about it to keep up such a ruse but when small my parents said there was no such thing. when a tooth fell out you threw it away cause it was pointless to keep it. i wanted some thing different for my kids. but leaving money i can’t compete with that. plus if the tooth fairy left a toy etc., they would be able to enjoy it and share it with the other siblings who didn’t lose a tooth. i just thought that another point of view might be helpful for future generations because with the economy how it is the tooth fairy who brings money might inspire my kids to think they can be lazy and loose teeth and get paid for it. they know if they want money to spend they have to urn it by doing chores.
