The beautiful twincesses will be 2, 1 month from tomorrow . For now they are 22 months, 4 weeks, and 3 days old.

 

 

In a perfect world, kid stars would never grow up. We could hold them to a higher standard forever, and keep them squeaky clean at the very least until our own children stop idolizing them, and move forward themselves.

 

We saw how Miley Cyrus turned seemingly so quickly from demure little country girl, to a smoking, scantily-clad controversy. It’s not always easy for us to explain what is going on with these ‘kids’ when this process takes place. Especially if our own little wannabes are still quite young. You can’t say too much.

 

This comes after the controversy surrounding the sexy, sultry pictures of Selena Gomez in not a teeny bop, not a Seventeen, but a very grown up, very adult, Cosmopolitan magazine. Some are appalled at the current Disney star, and find the photos inappropriate as their children look up to her.

 

 I will say my daughter is a big Wizards of Waverly Place fan herself, however, what has happened to Selena is what happens to us all….we grow up, and so has she. She is likely trying to break free from her demure ways to prove that she indeed is a woman now. After all, the pretty celeb is 19 years old.

 

Lord knows I myself was not donning any turtle necks and high waisted jeans at 19 years of age. I didn’t even realize the baby-faced actress turned pop star was even that old! Maybe this is what she was aiming to accomplish. Showing the world she’s no baby.

 

My thoughts about how to keep your little Wizard fan shielded…don’t let him or her see the magazine! If you own that Cosmo issue simply hide it, because they will want to see her if they catch a glimpse of the cover. It’s not a magazine that will be passed around the classroom or the bus, nor does it have..THANK GOD anything of her in any disgusting position.

 

 I was definitely more ewwed by a younger Miley Cyrus, topless at 15 years young, wrapped up in a sheet, and ‘odd’ photos of her posing with her father rather suggestively, many say. My daughter didn’t see it, so she went unaffected. She will here to, because she’d want to dress just like Selena.

 

Problem is she is not 19, and it’s not happening. If the beautiful songstress was a model these would seem quite regular and tasteful even. (See video below. Here’s Miley at 15 to compare.)

 

 

Because Selena is such an impressive and impressionable Disney star that is where the controversy lies. She’s trying to tell the world I am grown up now, I believe. It certainly doesn’t mean that her fans are. What do you think about the new Selena Gomez photographs in Cosmo Magazine?

 

Tasteful for 19? I say yes. 15? NO!

 

I personally think she’s straighter then the stars that have hit this peak age and have backsliden in their squeaky clean ways, dress included. I don’t think she will ever truly disappoint us parents as a role model in the future. Of course, I could be wrong.. but I think I’m right.

 

If you go over and watch the hit show Victorious you will see 15 and 16 year olds already dressed much like the images in this magazine. Why is that more acceptable? They are still children. Unfortunately, time will always continue marching on. Teach your children proper values and morals, and to love themselves as they are, as I know you do. They’ll turn out just fine.
