Sand, Surf, And Multiples: Hitting the Beach For The First Time With Twins!
Sand, Surf, And Multiples: Hitting the Beach For The First Time With Twins!
12 Weeks old 5-25-10
Yesterday, me and the hubby decided to hit the beach, with the super nice weather we had. Just like it always was, I suppose, but with 2 more in tow, of course. Two very tiny passengers, that were quite fussy during the trip. I never had newborns at this part of the year, meaning when the nice days haven’t been super abundant yet, so I gotto get my butt out the door every chance I get, and the 1st really nice days, there is no way around it, we gotto hit the beach, plus, after memorial day, you gotto pay right, so why not go a few days before? That’s my logic anyhow.
Of course the girls didn’t have suits, so I made hubby stop at Babies R Us, along the way. I always have those 205 off coupon booklets, because I am ALWAYS shopping there. I saw two 3-6 mo suits, and grabbed them fast, so we could head off. I was surprised to see on my receipt, that the total was so cheap, and then I saw ‘Buy one get one free’, so that was something I didn’t expect, but how cool right? Twin babies, so this was perfect, so if you see this before memorial day, hit the store ladies. What a deal. 2 for $12.99, then with my coupon, it was only like $974 plus tax, for two swimsuits. I couldn’t believe it.
I will admit, I’m going to find my way there again today, to pick up two more, because I have another coupon, and even without, that deal still rocks!! Here are a few pics of today’s venture below. I remember the days of spending countless hours at the beach, like 6 hrs, I just enjoyed it so much, it was sooo peaceful, but now. 2.5 hrs. and that seemed like a lot, ha ha, and we were packed up. I’m sure it’ll get easier with time, but there isn’t much for a newborn to do there, and my 4 yr. old, just would not let me sit and relax at all. Do I miss the days of going to the beach alone, and sunning quietly, listening to the waves crash against the shore? Maybe I do alittle. Would I trade it for what I have now? No, I surely wouldn’t.
Anyhow, the water was surprisingly warm, and so I dipped the girls feet in the water. Both didn’t cry at all, they seemed to not mind it, maybe even enjoy it. I know Mikayla screamed her head off, and the boys well, they weren’t born that time of year, so it wasn’t the same. I may have water babies on my hands here.
We had to pack something for the girls to lie on, so I had the umbrella, the sheets, towels, and camera, along with two full sized bouncers, and a gigantic diaper bag filled to the rim, the only difference to how it once was:) More, and more stuff, the more and more kids you have.
What beautiful weather. Enjoy it, and happy almost memorial day. Let the weekend start NOW:)
xoxoxo
PS- Oh, smiles are coming more frequently now, and Allie has caught up and is now coo-ing to. Is anything more precious?

Fantastic to see this post as I am planning a trip to the beach when the babes are around the same age. Hopefully it will work out and maybe, just maybe I should start praying that I will look just as great as you! lol
Hugs,
