Product Recommendation of The Week: Adjustable Zippy Skates – Best Toddler Roller Skates
My lil’ skate-o-mates are 3 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days old.
Our family has a new favorite pastime. That pastime is roller skating. Even the littlest of our family members are taking part and enjoying the sport. Why should they be left out just because they’re small?
Roller skating is great exercise, a lot of fun, and great for bringing families together. Why we didn’t start up with rink skating sooner is only a mystery to me.
I personally grew up loving to skate. My husband was never as big of a fan so maybe that is why we never went to a rink before. But now even if I take the kids alone, it’s such a great time that it’s become a weekly routine for us. Hub has even gotten into it a bit to.
Of course, 2 and 3 year old toddlers can’t wear big kid skates. Roller rinks are slippery. So of course, little tykes like mine need to be protected while enjoying themselves. I have bought toddler skates for every child I have had..(5), and so I have some experience with this.
Though we might not have gone to indoor rinks we have tried various skate brands on outdoor terrain before and I have to say that by a country mile, actually 2 country miles the Zippy brand makes the BEST skates for little ones who are learning to skate and enjoying the sport while still young, hands down.
Here are some of the positive things about Zippy brand skates
These skates will work for your toddler from shoe sizes 7-13 which is quite a long time. They adjust over your toddler’s sneakers, and within seconds they are ready to roll.
The construction of the skates are basic but you can tell the quality is high when you hold them and put them onto your child’s feet. They won’t just stand the test of time due to the adjustment factor, but also due to strong and sturdy materials used in their creation.
High quality nylon, heavy duty velcro, and strong aluminum alloy rivets are combined to make the most durable skate for young children ever created. There are also quality front stoppers added (brakes) for older tots who know how to use them.
3) Toddler perfect roll
No these skates are NOT meant for high speed, but who among us wants our toddlers flying across the rink in fear? These are perfectly suitable for beginners learning how to skate. They have the perfect amount of roll to make for a fun yet safe riding experience. Not boring..not too fast =’s just right. Zippy skates are the perfect 1st skates for any youngster.
4) Easy to put on and take off
They slide open and when pushed back together will tighten quickly and easily around your tot’s sneakers. You squeeze two little buttons together and slide it shut for a perfect and very secure fit. Then to make sure they stay put you slide the lock over and pull over the adjustable Velcro strap. No coming off, no laces, no fuss, and your sweetie pie(s) are ready to roll!
Bright pink and red for girls. Cute blue, red, white color for boys. Also available in an orange/ yellow color for either sex.
6) The price for what you get is tops
These skates are deceiving. They don’t have all the bells and whistles that some skates do. At first I wondered if I was making the correct purchase. However, I have learned in the past buying special skates such as princess training skates with fancy designs on them does not equate to quality. Here you pay for the skate and not for the licensed characters or fancy frills involved, which is what you really want to do in a skate.
I’ve been disappointed buying skates from Toys R Us that simply looked adorable but the quality, perfect roll, and ease of use for both mother and child just wasn’t all there. Even skates that look like these in design are not the same. My sons had close lookalikes that were a pain for mom and not impressive in their roll. Here you are paying for a great toddler rink skate. Nothing more..nothing less. You do get what you pay for.
These won’t break the bank for what you get in return.
At first I thought it was a lot $29 each (only because I have twins) and also just based on the fact that I saw fancier looking skates at these prices, some lower, some only a bit higher. But like I said, I’d rather have safe and quality toddler skates for my girls than have pieces of junk that look all cute, dolled up and pretty. So was this a worthwhile purchase for just under $60 for my ladies? You bet-ya! In the 5 times they have gone thus far..the skates have paid for themselves. I highly recommend Zippy.
I thought they’d be falling all over and they really have terrific balance in these and apparent comfort. They skate for hours in them without complaint. And they aren’t too fast or too slow. They get the full skating experience for their age group, and they have rarely fallen in these. I can actually step away from them now and let them skate with confidence. I love them. They seem to to.
I can find no flaws or drawbacks in the Zippy brand. Therefore, I rate these skates a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
I would and am recommending them to friends and to you. My readers and pals 😀 .
Bonding, family fun!
