Praise The Lord The Bond Between Fraternal Twins Deepens (With Video)

My fraternal divas are 29 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days old

 

 

Do the twins still fight? Heck yeah. Is there something more gentle going on behind the scenes? You bet ya. It seems to be increasing positively over time. While I don’t want to jinx it, I do want to document it.

 

 FINALLY, I am seeing some real ‘sisterly bonding’ between my twin girls  . Gone are the days where they refused to even touch one another’s hand as you will see in the video below. Seeing them hold hands and not pull the other to the floor in a wrestling type hold is quite a heart-warming sight, indeed.

 

I still ponder the question, ”Are identical twins more bonded right from the start of life forward?” From all I have seen I will personally say that I believe that is true to some extent. But there are many, highly-bonded, fraternal twins as well. They may only share 50% of their DNA like any other siblings, but twinning of any kind is in fact very special.

 I’m elated as I used to be in tears wondering what was wrong with MY twins. Were they switched at birth or something? I felt like I was the only twin mom walking in these shoes. I got jealous of moms with loving twins, I won’t lie. Why did it seem all along as though MY girls would be happier as singletons?

 

They never seemed to miss or care for one another, never wanted to sleep together, only scratched each other up, bit, and hit each other constantly as they turned into toddlers. Fought over everything and shared little to no tender moments. It broke my heart and most times it felt more like a job protecting them from one another then simply the enjoyable experience I had always dreamed life with twins would be. (Aside from the hard work, of course.)

 

All I needed was the whistle and striped shirt. Now..we are making a breakthrough. It has taken over 2 years but maybe the referee will soon get her 10 minute break. Well deserved break, I would say.

 If Allie would continue to let her guard down, we should be seeing many more happy-go-lucky videos in the future, and less fighting baby/ toddlers 101 type ones. It warms a mother’s heart. Do you want to see the twins in action actually looking like close pals instead of enemies? Here you go. I can’t believe they are almost 2 and 1/2 years old. Where has the time gone to?

 

 

 

Finally they:

 

A) Look for and ask for one another (as if they actually do care now)

 

B) Play games *nicely* with one another

 

C) May hold hands or kiss/ hug without knocking each other to the floor

 

D) Share nicely..sometimes. Heck, they still are human.. and toddlers

 

E) Seem to miss their co-twin sometimes now

 

F) Finally letting the Mederma kick in, allowing some of the facial scars from their fierce fighting days heal

 

 G) Seem to communicate with one another more than simply and simultaneously taking a crap at the same time every day. There’s finally more horsing around than there’s horse shit around..HORRAY!

 

 

Mama is praying this bond lasts and will only grow stronger!
