Poem Dedicated To Exhausting Twin Toddlers
Poem Dedicated To Exhausting Twin Toddlers
8-12-2012
My ‘keeps me on my toes’ duo is now 29 months, 1 week, and 3 days old.
I love them so much, but I often wish I were twenty again. (So does my back.) Anyway, since I have an exhausting day ahead hosting a birthday party at my home and also tending to a friend’s house full of pets.. (somehow, somewhere in between
) while she’s on a 5 day vacation. (Don’t ask. I don’t know how I roped myself into that one. I’m just too nice I guess.) I had better make this post short & sweet.
Here’s a quick poem for you. Don’t expect Shakespeare today of all days.
*********************************
Twin toddlers roaming, throughout the house,
Trampling like rhinos, not like a mouse.
Dancing down hallways, hands in the air,
Ranting and raving, without a care.
Mommy is cleaning, throughout the day,
No hope of anything, staying that way.
Twin toddlers screaming, diapers peeled off,
Kissing than hitting, their blows never soft.
Smiling and giggling, drawing on walls,
Helping each other back up when they fall.
Flying on boundless energy, it seems,
Finally sleeping, mom whispers.. ‘Sweet dreams.”
Twin toddlers exhaust, but the gift is so great,
I have no doubt now, these twin tots were our fate.

Oh the joy and the exhaustion of raising twin toddlers. You got to love them. Who the hell needs the gym anymore? Getting and staying in shape??? Twin toddlers are the answer
. All I do is point to them when people ask me how I do it. If you don’t have a set, ask to borrow one for the day. You’ll feel the burn
.
Sorry the poem isn’t terrific..it’s only 5 am. My head is still far up in the clouds wishing it were still asleep. Now I have to go finish up a birthday DVD I am making for one of my guests today using the pictures and video I took at HER child’s birthday party. (Too nice again?) It never ends!
Have a terrific Sunday everybody.
