My Poor, Poor Baby! Chlorine? Food Poisoning? Stomach Virus? We Just Don’t Know Yet.

My little fireflies are 28 months & 5 days old
Sorry for not posting yesterday. Seems as though there is either a stomach bug or some other illness running through the family. The night before last I took Annie out on a play date with me, and she went poop 6 times (I counted) in a matter of hours.
She would be totally fine in between, and then suddenly would crouch down like a dog and take these small amounts of poo, but increasingly painful ones, as her tiny butt became more and more sore.
The friend I was with noticed this similar behavior from her own toddler last year. She asked if maybe she ingested any chlorine from the pool. That hit home because with this searing heat wave we have lived in the pool both at home and the public one to stay cool.
Plus, Annie is the twin who is fearless, loves the water, being splashed, even in the face, and can even hold her breath from the inside already and take quick dunks under the water. I have it on video. It’s crazy at her age, and from a baby who hated baths so much she would scream her eyes out to not get water dumped over her head. What a step.
Anyhow, several times I caught her with her mouth ajar in the pool trying to get a sip and would stop her, but I’m sure something had gotten in her mouth at some point.
Water fun the past few days
I figured my friend was right and waited it out that night into the next day. Yesterday we took a chlorine break and visited the sprinkler park. She seemed better at first, but then it came back again. She’d squat down, sometimes it was a decent amount of poo but usually just a bit, but more frequently then it should be which led to reddening of her hiney again. This got worse and worse.
I was giving her Gatorade in case she needed fluids, (she won’t drink the Pedialyte), but I’m still unsure if this is ‘acidic’ or not like other juices are. Anybody know? Now I’m just giving water, but not too much of it. We cut out any foods or drinks that might be acidic to help her out in the diaper area and are trying some Butt Paste. Of course, this got to it’s peak on a Friday night which is always what happens. (Weekend troubles. Always the common occurrence.)
My poor baby was laying on her belly last night, legs folded up at her side, and when she would have to poo she became so upset and said, ”Anna poopie…Anna poopie. No way, no way. No touch!” She ran away in a crab position begging to not be changed, screaming her brains out. I tried soaking her hiney in water rather than using wipes but it wasn’t effective enough and she didn’t seem soothed by it anyway.
It’s Saturday.. but if things continue like last night we will be finding a doctor somewhere to see her. The weird thing is that Allie, though not yet complaining, also is starting to have more frequent little ‘mustardy stools’ herself now. Even I started having a bad stomach last night into this morning, but that could have been my IBS vs. the new berry salad I had from Wendys..(SO good!) Someone on Facebook brought up Salmonella. We didn’t have any eggs, but we are always eating meat and drinking milk, so I just don’t know yet.
Wish us all luck please, and especially give a prayer up for baby Annie. Yesterday evening was so bad for her and it is starting to hurt to just to look at. It makes mom want to cry. I don’t think still at this point it’s chlorine, but I’m just so unsure.
Have a great weekend folks! Please stay cool today. It’s going to be the hottest day yet, if you can imagine that.
Stay hydrated!
PS- I will update..one way or another.

oooh the poor little one!! I feel so bad for her, try getting some all natural diaper cream sometimes I find they help alot more and faster with discomfort. I would also suggest oatmeal in her bath to help soothe
