More Diastasis & Squeem Questions Answered + Squeem Sale
My little twinkettes are 4 years, 6 months, 3 weeks & 6 days old.
I continue to get about 15-20 emails a day from eager pregnant or new moms, and even women and men who have issues due to other things like diastasis recti that have all of the same questions about Squeem products. Some women and men have had abdominal surgery and are looking for support to heal, which the Squeem is also terrific for.
I know I have answered many of the questions I get regularly in the past, so if you do a quick search you will find those posts and the top 5 best belly binders post of mine as well. Hopefully, you will get your answers there & here, and I will try not to repeat myself too much. Some of these questions will be new ones.
1) How does the Squeem work? Why is it a better choice for me than other binders?
The Squeem works by using comfortable (some binders are NOT comfortable) compression to allow your muscles to heal and your waistline to shrink down without needing to sacrifice feeling good while getting results. Most binders would not be comfortable enough to sleep in or to keep on as long as you can with this one. It doesn’t ride up or fold down during wear. It doesn’t cause any itchiness and it completely covers you top to bottom unlike say the Tupler Splint and most Velcro binders. Do you want to fix a section of your tummy, or the entire thing, right 😉 ? Plus, Velcro wears thin over time and needs replacement. And it is WAY more bulky than flat hook & eye closures.
Besides that, you can wear it more not just due to the comfort of the garment, but because it can be worn underneath even snug clothing by both men and women. It is the most seamless, undetectable binder on the market for such a purpose. Extended, comfortable wear, makes for faster more permanent and impressive results. It conceals as it heals, I like to say.
No other binder has the Squeem intelligent technology fabric inside of them. This allows the garment to mold to your shape like an Isotoner glove. It fits your every curve like liquid skin which is absolutely essential in your comfort and in pushing muscles back into place and allowing you to be as mobile as you need to be without any bending or folding of the garment. The liquid skin fit is something that only the Squeem can provide you with. You forget you are wearing it!
2) Can I lose weight with this garment?
YES! It doubles as a great garment for losing weight (along with extra inches in return) due to the material inside of it. Doing some light exercise, especially aerobic activity, will definitely help you burn fat in your abdominal area. You may sweat more overall due to the rubber/cotton blend, which also helps you lose weight, but no worries… during times of inactivity or regular walking you will NOT at all feel sweated up and ‘hot’. I hate feeling like that, so I am glad that is not the case, but the blended material can help create sweat/ weight loss in those doing activity such as running a treadmill, etc. etc.
I wouldn’t recommend strong abdominal workouts in this garment, but aerobic activity, I did Zumba a few times in it without issue, and stuff that isn’t too heavy is totally fine. If you are closing a diastasis recti like I had, I had no troubles doing my diastasis exercises using this binder. I put the strength of the Squeem to the test. Just check out my You Tube channel to see!
3) How do I know if I am getting a real, authentic Squeem garment?
YOU MUST buy from an authorized reseller ONLY to ensure your purchase is legit. I don’t care who you buy from, I just don’t want to see anybody get scammed. I have had people contact me, sending me photos and asking if their garment is real. No matter where you buy from, make sure it is a reputable seller who is 100% affiliated with the Squeem company. You can even call Squeem if you wish, though if they ARE authorized, they should announce it like I do on my order page. Last thing you need is to get some knock off from China and lose your hard earned money. It does happen. I didn’t get scammed by this, but I paid for items I thought were Juicy Couture, Bebe, etc. on eBay and got scammed out of quite a bit of money over my years of shopping. Shop safe and you will get the real deal.
They counterfeit everything nowadays (sadly). The quality of the TRUE Squeem garment is unmatched, so if you do get a knock off chances are the quality won’t be what you would expect, it may not hold up well, the sizes can be off if from China, and it will NOT possess the ever important Intelligent Squeem Technology fabric that helps make this garment so effective. If you see a deal that is too good to be true, it most always is.
Authentic Squeem garments don’t come from people’s home, they come from the Squeem warehouse. When you buy through me for example, my name is not on the box. I take the orders, send them in to the company. I have a 4.5 year rapport with Squeem. (You could call and ask about Twinpossible if you wish :-D, Shelly & Rich. (My husband helps me out sometimes. God bless him.) Nothing to hide here! They ship the garments the same day, and the package you receive will come from the Squeem factory located in Florida. Be wary if it does NOT say that on the box.
Also, I sell them at the absolute lowest prices Squeem will allow. I actually have to raise the prices a little bit because costs just went up, I just didn’t get to it yet. I always keep it minimal, and I always eat some of the shipping costs to because my aim is to help people… not get rich off of selling these things. If the price is any lower, unless it’s a used one on eBay someone is selling off, it is NOT the real deal, and if it is, the seller needs to be reported, and they will no longer be a reseller. Squeem has strict rules about this.
4) How do I care for / clean my Squeem garment?
Care is EXTREMELY easy. Unlike Velcro binders that are all cotton and hold in the moisture and funky smells, these do not. The cotton side isn’t facing your body. I have never smelt any body odor despite wearing my garment at one point up to 14 hours per day. A typical binder you may have to wash several times a week with heavy wear.
If I washed mine every few weeks to a month that would be a lot. It never gets funky, and I just got busy and since it never smelt, I just would forget to do it, ha ha. All you need to do is soak the garment in some cool water. (I used the bathroom sink.) And you can use a mild detergent, swish a little and rinse. Very little detergent is needed. You don’t need much to keep it in pristine condition. Mine still looks amazing. Just hang to dry around the shower rod or something. There is very little maintenance. No fuss… I love that! Who has time? Not you!
(This question comes up too often, so I have to repeat this one)….
5) Will I need to buy a second size once I shrink down?
If I would have needed a second garment, I gladly would have shelled out the money without hesitation with all that this garment did for me. I mean buying a belly binder or even 50 of them vs. painful and expensive surgery? Come on. I wouldn’t have needed to think about it. HOWEVER, in the vast majority of cases, a second garment is NOT necessary. There are some that buy two sizes right off the bat to be sure, and that is fine… but for most, one garment will last the duration due to that liquid skin material. The intelligent Squeem Technology. It shrinks down with you.
With continued use (weeks – several months) you get permanent results and closure of diastasis recti, if present. Like I said before, Squeem conceals as it heals.
Only a handful of people out of thousands ever actually needed to buy a second garment. These were cases of massive weight/ inches loss. Nobody ever complained. With Squeem you get what you pay for and much more. But I get this question every day. The Squeem does have two rows of adjusters, so it can be tightened, though even at my much tinier waistline now, I can put my Squeem, on and it will fit even on the 1st row of adjusters, so the material, yes.. it is THAT awesome.
6) Which belly binder should I buy for postpartum belly binding? Which is most effective and what are the differences?
NOTE– Ladies please do NOT order the Trimmer. This does happen, and I hate to see that. I try and catch it, but the picture with the man and my little note has only helped about 90%. The Perfect Waist is the garment for women, LIKE the Trimmer for men. The shape is different for men than it is for women, so it won’t fly for you ladies.
There are 3 models for women that I recommend for postpartum binding and diastsis recti (or both).
**All 3 of the models listed contain the Intelligent Technology Fabric**
The Perfect Waist –
It is your basic model that does get the job done. I always get asked which binder I used, this was the one. I didn’t happen upon any others at the time, so this was the Squeem model I saw 1st and bought, but I can’t say enough wonderful things about it, and it is my best seller hands down. It compresses the entire mid-section, it is comfortable, works beautifully under clothing, so you can work or do whatever you need to with confidence, and it heals while you are concealing your problem area. This comes in nude or black.
The Miracle Vest-
This is the second most popular buy. What are the benefits to the vest model that some women love? It features suspender style straps and under-the-bust support, which in turn helps to support the back more than the previous model. Can you breastfeed and use the vest, I get asked often? YES, you certainly can. Also, one other benefit some women like, is that the way it is cut in back, if bat wings in back are a problem area for you (above the bra area), they are fully concealed by this style. It helps improve posture better as well. This model also comes in nude or black.
The Fashion Cincher-
This is for the woman who wants all of the benefits that the Perfect Waist model has to offer, but wants a sexier look while they are healing. Maybe they wish to wear it in the bedroom with their partner and feel sexier in the postpartum period by fashionably covering up their bellies. It may help enhance self-esteem during the recuperation process. On the inside, beyond the sexy looking outer shell, the fabric is all the same and the effectiveness also, the same.
7) Can men reap the same benefits as women from belly binding?
ABSOLUTELY! You don’t have to have been pregnant to need and use a binder. Diastasis is the main culprit in men that order from me. There are two binders that are meant for them. The Trimmer and The Power Vest. Both are created to mold to the male shape and provide ample compression to slim down belly bulges and close abdominal separations if present. Men are no less likely to benefit from belly binding with a Squeem garment than a female is.
I do sell more to females because it seems that the market caters to them more so, but Squeem has got men covered to! No company should forget that men have self-esteem issues as well and want to look good and feel good within their own bodies. I have sold to many men, and the feedback has been great. My You Tube video and post on male diastasis recti and belly binding, I have been thanked many times via email and comments for that information. You are very welcome guys. Squeem doesn’t forget about you.
8 ) Will this garment help close up my diastasis recti problem?
YES, YES, YES! No need to think about jumping into surgery like I thought that I would need to do. I saved my husband A LOT of money and myself A LOT of pain by giving Squeem a try, hence why I had to promote the brand. It felt more like a duty after reading how much negativity is out there. Enough to have me bawling during my pregnancy and robbing me of some of its joy, which wasn’t fair. Even large DR problems can be healed with persistent, dedicated belly binding with your Squeem.
I bound for 12 weeks in total, and got back to right where I was before. You may take a little less, or a little more time, but you WILL get results you are thrilled with, I assure you. I get thank you emails and happy reviews from customers all of the time. If it saved me surgery, and I am not more special than anybody else, it will do the same for you. Think positive and start Squeeming. Your body and your self-esteem will thank me. That is my reward!!
A couple of examples of diastasis. A bulge in one photo (reminded me of aliens inside of my belly at the time I was still pregnant), or a noticeable gap upon crunching up. Some people have longer or shorter DR issues than others. Also depth is considered in severity as well. Some DR’s can extend from under the rib cage to the pelvic region, some are less long. Mine was as long as it could be and was widest above and at the belly button. Deepest to.
Not taking action with diastasis recti can lead to constant back pain from a weakened core and worse yet, hernias.
You don’t want to have to learn the hard way. Once you know you have a diastasis recti present, it is time to take action, unless you are pregnant. You need to wait until after the delivery, of course. There is no reason you can’t have the mid-section you once had, whether male or female. Know that there is hope in sight!
