I Found My Toddler’s Real Twin!
I Found My Toddler’s Real Twin!
It’s what’s for dinner!
What a totally insane experience I had yesterday. I begged the hubby to take us to IHOP because I had this overwhelming craving for pumpkin pancakes for dinner. (Hey, sometimes you just can’t fight it. It’s not an all year thing you know.)
Anyway, as we all sit there at the table, (or should I say crammed into a table), crayons flying, napkins shredding, people staring, sanity slowly slipping. I quickly remembered why the hubby said he hates going out with little ones because it’s ‘a waste of money.’
I never had the best children in restaurants, I’ll admit to that..but practice makes perfect, right? I refuse to give up. So we are sitting there and my husband says, ‘Shell, look at that kid over there. It could be Allie’s twin. They look exactly alike.’ My kids look over and all chime in. ‘Holy cow she does..exactly.’
Now with my near-sightedness, I could only see hair, and ironically a very similar fuchsia outfit on. I quickly stumbled out to the car fumbling for my glasses and raced back inside. Obvious? who knows, who cares?
WOW it was uncanny! I had always wondered what happened in that delivery room that day. Did this couple take home my real Annie, because surely these two look NOTHING alike..despite some people who I run into whom are obviously intoxicated to think they look like identicals. I mean come on.
Now this may be the most alike they have ever looked :-D.

Man, if I could have taken a photo of this little girl, likely the same exact age, and not have been looked at like some strange lunatic just to show you the likeness, you know I surely would have. I didn’t think it’d be a ‘kosher’ thing to do, but I just still can’t get over it.
If we were sitting closer I would have struck up a conversation, and no not about why they took my baby home. I have pictures of inside the delivery room with both babies, and was completely lucid during the birth or I’d really have to question it. Unless someone walked away with a triplet I never knew I was carrying..it’s impossible.
It was insane though. Eyes, hair amount & style, hair color, face shape, same cheeks, same nose, same size body from what I could see..it was incredibly bizarre. As for poor Annie, we still haven’t figured out who among us she looks like.
Since it was back to back IUI’s a day apart, my husband has jokingly said we should get a DNA test on her in case the doctor slipped me the wrong sperm. Isn’t he lovely? Such a charmer. Not that it’s humanly impossible, but he said regardless, ‘We’ll keep her.’ Again, such a sweetie.
Actually, I think Annie looks more like my friend’s daughter then her own twin sister. What do you think? There is a one year age difference. At her age they had the same amount of hair. I only have this. In person it looks more convincing. They often remind me of one another, but NOTHING like the Allie-clone by far.
I just still can’t get over this little girl. (The IHOP one.) They say we all have a twin out there. I guess that goes for twins to, as Allie has already found hers. I guess they’ll always have pancakes.
