EarDoc, ‘As Seen On The Doctors’, Review + Giveaway!
EarDoc, ‘As Seen On The Doctors’, Review + Giveaway!
2-24-2011
In my household, we don’t get a lot of ear infections, but with two 11 month olds now here, who knows what may come.
The EarDoc is a very interesting looking instrument that is said to help with multiple issues such as treating the pain and symptoms of ear infections, quickly and effectively, and nearly eliminating the need for ear tube surgery.
This sounds fantastic, but is it too good to be true? Some think so, but I’m a bit more open-minded, and was curious to test out this product on myself and my family.
I honestly wish I had known about the EarDoc sooner, as my friend has three children, and two out of 3, have had multiple surgeries in regards to their ears, and replacing tubes in them. The 3rd child also has hearing and fluid issues, at only 22 months, and is likely headed down the same road. I wish she lived closer so she could participate in this review. She’d be perfect for it!
My daughter who is 5, often complains of feeling like her ears have water in them, and have that clogged feeling. My husband has issues with some hearing loss due to his job, which is quite noisy, and he wears ear plugs, however they don’t cut out much, if any, of the noise he experiences, and he has suffered from daily tinnitus because of it.
My mother in law is just plain losing her hearing altogether. She’s almost 87, and is very frustrated about the ‘loss’. My brother in law, is ALWAYS complaining about feeling what the EarDoc describes as ‘Fullness’, and he describes as ‘an annoyance’ in both of his ears, and is forever using those ear cleansing kits, with peroxide in both ears with a mini pluger like tool, in hopes of relieving that feeling. He does on occasion get some pain, and since he’s nearby, he also participated in this experiment.
Me, I get a lot of colds, I actually one coming on right now, and my sinuses are pretty much always stuffed up, due to getting frequent colds and having allergies. So no one has any true earache pain right now, but could the EarDoc help us with any of these other problems? I will discuss the outcome below, but let’s 1st talk a little bit about what the Ear Doc is, what it claims to do, and what you can expect from this product.
Ok..so how does the EarDoc work? Well, unlike what I thought at first, it is completely non-invasive. Nothing will hurt, and it’s fine for children and adults of any age, except under the age of 1 years old, for which it is not recommended. My twins turn 1 in 6 days, so that is a wait and see. (I go by the book
.)
The EarDoc is made to treat the actual problem of ear infections, and not just the symptoms. Though of course you will be happy to relieve the actual symptoms as well, as ear infections can be quite painful. I remember them well from childhood, as I had my fair share. The EarDoc dries up the trapped fluid in the ears, and opens up the closed ear tube.
This is a fairly common problem that can lead to surgery, but with the EarDoc you may just be able to avoid that surgery all together, saving your child pain, an invasive surgical procedure, and yourself some big money. What could be more wonderful then that?
The EarDoc is a safe, simple, and effective treatment for:
1) Ear infections in both children and adults (Ages 1-101)
2) Middle ear fluid (Swimmer’s ear)
3) Hearing Loss
4) Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
5) Ear Pain caused by air travel
6) Ear fullness caused by colds, sinusitis or allergies
7) May help decrease tinnitus. (Ringing in the ear.)
Where as ear infections are concerned, with only 5 minutes of time on each infected ear, the EarDoc relieves the edema (swelling), and pain, in the vast majority of patients. I never wished I had an ear infection till right now, HA HA! Here are the actual statistics, very simply laid out:
To see how the EarDoc works at relieving ear pain, please watch the video below:
Like most people, I was a bit skeptical that a product that is so non-invasive could work so much ‘magic’, if you will. While again, I don’t have anyone right now with an actual ear infection, the results of the things that we DO have here in our family, at this moment in time, is as follows:
Dad- Some hearing loss, and tinnitus.
For over a week my husband has used the EarDoc, and isn’t sure if it’s coincidence or the EarDoc, in his own words, but he has experienced a bit less ringing of the ears, which is enough to make him want to continue to use the EarDoc. Many a morning he comes home from work, and complains about his poor, poor ears, so if this can help him, and also my frustration of having to often repeat myself 3 times, I am one happy wifey!
My 5 year old little girl-
We used this on her on a daily basis. She has not complained in over a week about feeling like there is something ‘trapped’ in her ear, like water or something. She has a very hard time expressing to us exactly what the feeling is, but she does shake her head a lot in hopes of getting whatever it is out. I’m sure we will use this a lot come Summer time (swim season), for sure.
She doesn’t have any wax build up, so we have been at a loss, but the past week and 1/2 knock on wood, I haven’t been seeing her shake her head back and forth like a wet puppy, and she maybe complained one time vs. 40 times. Another coincidence? Well, I can’t prove it was the EarDoc, but I have a fairly strong feeling it has to be part of it, and since t doesn’t cause her any ouchies, she has agreed to continue with it, and I’ll update at a future time.
Me, myself, and I-
I can’t really say. I have been so busy since the EarDoc arrived, I haven’t been able to notice if my head has remained connected to my shoulders, much less how my ears feel. Plus, I’ve been under the weather, as well. There was no pain present, which stinks only for this review’s sake
, but I will continue using it and will update as well on my results, due to the fact that I do have allergies and clogged sinuses, on a frequent basis. I am hopeful!
(Since I am sick right now, pic does not depict my current appearance.)
Mother In Law-
Well, she may be a lost cause overall, due to her age, but being that she lives very near by, which most people would hate, but I honestly don’t mind at all, has been given access by me, to the EarDoc. She states that she likes the way it feels, HA HA!
She doesn’t think it could ever replace the need for her to get a hearing aid, but she would like to borrow it. May just have to get her one for her birthday, because we would like to continue using ours, especially with two more in the house, whom are likely to experience ear infections along the way, as most children tend to do.
She’s somewhat hopeful that it has helped a little bit. YAY! Trust me, it might be frustrating for her, but it’s even more frustrating to us, as she can’t hear how loud she actually is, and all of the darn repetition. She complains about not being able to afford a hearing aid, and if I could give her one myself, I surely would, but an EarDoc is all we could afford right now ourselves. Mom/grandma, will be in touch!
Uncle Bob-
Uncle Bob is actually a definite EarDoc success story. He hasn’t been going crazy over his ears, and has used the Ear doc maybe 4 times since it’s arrival to our home. (He’s staying with us for a short while.) He has not been complaining, or in the bathroom trying to rid himself of the fullness he feels and the pressure inside of his ears. Again, I find this all highly coincidental, if it isn’t this product. I am witnessing him on a day in, day out basis, so it’s easy to see the changes.
He likes it, and WOULD recommend the product to others who have any ear issues, including simply feeling foggy and congested in the ear area. (I believe he has some sinus problems & allergies as well. He just never goes to see a real doctor, so this is right up his alley.) That is his definition of the feeling…’congested!’ I guess anybody feeling the same will know what he is referring to, and maybe the EarDoc will bring you some hope for this issue, as well. He claims to be doing much better.
I think overall, when you have a family, and kids, which go hand in hand, it IS a worthwhile investment to have an EarDoc in your home. I have seen enough to be able to conclude that there is something about this device that does yield positive results, and am looking forward to using it more in the future. Hopefully, not too much on the poor kids, but we know it’s inevitable. If my husband can get more and more results from this device, it is well worth the $ and then some.
If you suffer from ear pain, or any of the problems listed above, you know the frustration. I have chronic dry eye and would pay ANYTHING for a solution to it. So while the two problems are very different, if for $55 I could get some relief, I wouldn’t hesitate, I’d jump on it..FAST!
I also have an incredible respect for the professionals on the show ‘The Doctors’, and they wouldn’t air just any product. They are very respectable people, and aren’t junk pushers to make a fast buck…they are real, so I always highly value their personal opinions, as do many others!
Buy it, try it….see what it might do for you.
