Bumbleride Indie And Indie Twin Strollers Recalled. Fall Hazard!
Bumbleride Indie And Indie Twin Strollers Recalled. Fall Hazard!
February 2012
I don’t have this stroller, but almost did buy one. It’s in my top picks for a double stroller, and is insanely popular..so listen up! Bumbleride has recalled roughly 30,000 Indie and Indie Twin strollers of their brand due to a potential fall hazard.
The front wheel may possibly break at the axle hub and cause the stroller to tip over and injuries to possibly occur. 36 such incidents have been reported to date, though all injuries have been reportedly minor, thus far.
The affected models were sold between January 2009 and January 2012 in retails stores such as Buy Buy Baby, other baby related stores, and even online at Bumbleride.com, among other online retailers including Amazon and even eBay. It is very important that you check to see if you own an affected model.
Models involved in the recall
The recalled Bumbleride Indie strollers are model numbers I-107, I-110 and I-205
with a manufacturer date from January 2009 through August 2011 sold in
multiple colors. The manufacturer date can be found on a white
rectangular sticker affixed to the side of the seat frame.
The recalled Bumbleride Indie Twin strollers are model numbers IT-108, IT-111, and IT-305 with a manufacturer date from January 2009 through August 2011 sold in multiple colors. The date it’s been manufactured can be found on a white
rectangular sticker affixed to the underside of the handle.
If you do find that you own one of these Bumbleride strollers please stop using it at once, and contact Bumbleride for a free front wheel retrofit kit before allowing your child or children to ride in the stroller.

I know of the recall on these strollers, so I called Bumbleride directly and asked them the best way to ensure that if I bought one that I would get one that was not part of the recall. They recommended that I purchase directly from them via the website, I did this and received a recalled product in violation of federal law. Bumbleride has been less than receptive to me and only made contact with me after I filed a complaint with the CPSC. Furthermore, they proceeded to lie to me and tell me that they had been trying to reach me but that my phone had not been functional, however after my call to the CPSC amazingly the phone began to work… funny how that happens.
Christina is less than a model customer service representative, she is rude and self righteous. She does not convey any sense of remorse or acceptance of responsibility for the fact that they shipped out a recalled baby product, it almost appears that this is a way of business for them.
That is messed up! I hope they fix this issue for you, as well they should. I hate dealing with crappy companies who do anything to make a buck then don’t want to hear a word from you should any problems arise. This is good info. to know in case someone is thinking about buying from them in the future. Thanks for sharing your story!!! H&H.
