Another Recall: Phil&Teds Explorer & Hammerhead Strollers. Brake Hazard.
8-3-2011
My twin beauties are 17 months & 1 days old!
Phil&teds strollers are back in he news again after an earlier recall this year. This time the recall affects the phil&teds Explorer and Hammerhead models.
This recall currently is for strollers purchased in Australia, however, these strollers are due to be recalled in he U.S. shortly. If you live inside the U.S. you may still want to take necessary precautions.
*Note: According to the Babies R Us website I just read, the U.S. consumer product safety commission HAS issued a recall.*
The problem lies within he safety of the brakes. It is said that during normal use the brakes can become damaged and they will no longer function properly, as obviously required. Brake failure can lead to serious injury to your baby, as the stroller must be able to remain parked safely while baby(ies) are inside.
ONLY strollers purchased between June and December of 2010 are included in the recall. Models that were purchased after this date are deemed safe and unaffected. New brake assembly is provided free of charge to all recalled Explorer and Hammerhead models.
