I close my eyes and I see you, your laughing and dancing a way,
The whole bright world waiting for you, a life full of promise each day.
You run and play with the children, as I watch you with joy in my eyes,
You scream aloud, ”Mom, I love you!” I blow you a kiss full of pride.
I revel in every second, as I watch what your life should have been,
A flawless one until old age, I’d protect you as long as I lived.
But suddenly my eyes opened, and I realized that world was a dream,
There was nothing I could do to protect you, no hope could help change anything.
I cry now because you’re my baby, and I want it to be me and not you,
Why would God go and give me this great gift, then turnaround and rob me of you.
Years roll by but I’m still very broken, I’ve gone on because there is no choice,
I know that you hear me in my prayers, and I swear sometimes I hear your voice.
I close my eyes and see you in heaven, you are laughing and dancing away,
I blow tender kisses towards the sky, knowing I’ll be beside you some day.
That day will be my sweetest day ever, I will hug you and never let go,
So dance now my son up in heaven, while here on earth know that mom loves you so.
My 1st true love. My light at the end of every tunnel that leads me to safety. My rock when in need of shelter from this cold and difficult world. My best and most truest friend forever. I love you my son. One year closer to seeing you again!
