35 Wks, 5 Days Pegnant! Labor & Delivery Visit!
35 wk’s. 5 Days Pregnant W/ Twins. Labor & Delivery Visit!
Mood: Impatient In Pain
Went to the hospital today. I’m 35 weeks and 5 days along. I really didn’t want any false runs to the hospital, like I have done in the past, for some reason, in my stupid brain, I feel like I’m putting people out, and bothering them, when It turns out to be nothing (Smack me now right?:), but it was the weekend, I was concerned, so I really had no place else to go and get checked, and contractions have been coming quite regularly, and such horrendous back pain, I haven’t been able to rest in 3 days.
I charted the contractions all morning, I was having about 8 an hour, which is quite a lot, and as many times as I have been pregnant, including, one natural birth with a sunny-side up, back labor, I have never felt such hideously awful pain in my back ever before, in my life, and I am not a complainer. This was one ailment, I could not handle without taking medication, and that is saying ALOT for me. I just couldn’t understand what it was causing this, so I went in.
Anyhow, I was hooked up to the monitors for over 4 hours. It seemed as if it was likely my day. The bags were packed and ready in the car, contractions were not letting up, despite drinking lots of water, and laying down relaxing, plus at almost 36 weeks along, it could be it, when it’s twins, ya know? My uterus is stretched to the max, so It wouldn’t have been a shocker, BUT I am quite obviously back at home.
I asked them what was causing the insane amount of back pain I was having, and they couldn’t be sure, saying it could be the position of the 1st baby, with her head down so low, and off to the side a bit. She could be pressing on a nerve, (that’d be some nerve), or something else, they just couldn’t say. I’m sure a true broken back, could not feel any worse then this. I already have had two herniated discs in my back, that I hardly ever knew I had, because I’m good with pain, and they just never seemed to bother me, so what was this?
They were surprised I was contracting so much, and NOT having any change in my cervix, and that is why I am home, because of the lack of any progress over that 4 hour period of time. I was at 1-2 centimeters, so no real change at all, and I have my Dr. appt, on Monday, so they told me to follow up with him, but it was not active labor.
Oh well, so I wait. Hopefully the bubs will get a few more days to bake and be healthy. I’d really love for them to avoid the NICU! I hope this back pain ends soon, It’s unlike anything I have ever felt, and I HATE taking meds while pregnant, but I feel like crying!
Oh and ‘Miss man hands’, that did my examination at the hospital, REALLY hurt my poor, poor uni. I sware the male dr’s are more gentle, during a pelvic, in my experience. This woman just jabbed me, and now I have some brown mucus, and spotting going on. I never get that with my usual Dr. (A guy). You would THINK It’d be the opposite, like women know how to touch, and not touch, being that they have the same equiptment, haha
, but not in my experience!
Be back soon!
